This was exactly the experience of Dr. Parimal V Mandke who subscribed to the AdmissionsAbroad service from Admizzionz Campuz® for her grand-daughter Supriya for admissions in bachelor courses in Psychology in the United States. With guidance and support from Admizzionz Campuz, Supriya secured admission in 4 of the 5 universities she applied to.

In the words of Dr. Mandke “I feel privileged to share my feedback about the service rendered by Admizzionz Campuz to my granddaughter, Supriya Mandke. She will share her feedback, but as I was intensely involved in the process, I too, wish to put on record my deep appreciation.

Whenever, I requested for time, you were prompt in giving it. You were handling all data transactions with universities within time deadlines and giving us advance alert about the next expected action. Quite often, because Supriya had no access to the Net, I requested you to send the information to the University on behalf of Supriya and you readily did it. In particular, you helped me in making payments, filling the Visa Form for Supriya, etc.

Without the support from you, and given the fact that Supriya was no accessible most of the time, it would not have been possible to carry out the admission process with more than one Universities and finally, accepting admission in one.”
Supriya has finally taken admission in B.Sc. Psychology at the State University of New York, Stony Brook.

  5. Our counsellors are aware of the course offerings in multiple countries which makes it possible for them to configure the best shortlist of colleges/universities to target globally.
  6. Our counsellors’ factor in the financial budgets that the students may have to pursue higher education abroad.
  7. Our counsellors identify options where financial assistance is possible by way of scholarships, fee concessions, assistantships, and campus jobs.

Career interest assessment is an important first step in the process of seeking admission abroad. It involves:

  1. Taking a 45-minute Career Interest Profiling test to identify the vocational personality of the student and the career options that suit the student.
  2. Having a one-to-one discussion based on a 20-page report with the counsellor to finalise the course(s) of study from the college/university abroad.

Career Values Profiling helps determine what will be important to the student in his or her work and what will make it meaningful. How well a job or career satisfies his or her values is one of the most important considerations when evaluating career options. The values are classified as:

  1. Intrinsic values which relate to how the actual tasks involved with performing the duties of a job or career make you feel;
  2. Extrinsic values which are what you get out of the work that you do, and
  3. Lifestyle values which relate to how and where you want to live and how you spend your time away from work.
Once the career choices are clear it is time for profile enhancement so that the student’s persona matches the personality required by the career chosen. Our profile enhancement guidance involves:

  1. Supporting the student in selecting hobbies, sports, and other extra-curricular and co-curricular activities to pursue seriously

  2. Guiding leadership initiatives that the student can take up at school and the community where he/she lives and demonstrate the student’s leadership/entrepreneurial/ teamwork ability

  3. Identifying internships, research projects and/or summer courses, education, and training programs that the student can participate in that will make him/her stand out in her or his class in performing cocurricular activities

  4. Determining activities where the student can demonstrate social sensitivity through community service and social engagement

  5. Advising the student in creating an online persona and engaging in online communities, groups, social networks etc. with that persona judiciously
Once there is clarity on the course of study, there needs to be a decision on the destination college/university where the student will go for studying the desired course. Several factors need to be considered while making this decision such as:

  1. Quality of education
  2. Cost of attendance
  3. Academic recognition
  4. Work opportunities after the completion of the course
  5. Scholarship opportunities
  6. Work on-campus opportunities
  7. Visa availability
It is important to consider all costs and not just the tuition fees when doing the cost planning. These include costs towards room and board, books, supplies, transportation, insurance and other miscellaneous expenses.

In addition, family concerns like safety, adjustment and well-being also need to be addressed when deciding on the destination

With the decision on the course(s) in place, it is time to put together a shortlist of universities and colleges which the student will be applying. It is advisable to put on the shortlist three types of colleges/universities as given below:

  1. Aspirational: Colleges where the admission criteria are a little out of reach for the student but still attainable by strengthening the application for example by better performance on standardised tests

  2. Realistic: Colleges whose admission criteria match the student profiles and the probability of getting admission is realistically high.

  3. Contingent: If admission does not happen in the above category of colleges, the shortlist in this category will be of colleges where the probability of getting admission will be almost certain.
Students when applying for admissions get a lot of information that may or may not serve their purpose. Every institution follows their own admission criteria and a student applying, gets easily confused with the process. We understand this situation and guide the student through the entire application process and in particular the crucial steps of:

Resume building The goal of resume building is to:

  1. Present the scholastic and co-curricular activities undertaken by the student.
  2. Showcase the student’s achievements in a manner that creates impact and illustrates what the student is likely to do and contribute to at the college when he/she joins college.
  3. Indicate the professional goals and aspirations of the student.
Writing the essay This involves:

    1. Supervision of SOP/ Essay writing including providing feedback, red lining and providing inputs on areas of improvement/corrective action so that it is effective in letting the college know who the student is and what makes him or her unique and different from everyone else.
    2. Reviewing drafts of the essays until the final draft is completed and has the potential to convince the college admissions committee that the student is a good match for the college and worthy of being admitted.
Obtaining the letters of recommendation (LOR) This step involves providing inputs and templates for the LORs that will be given by the student’s teacher/school counsellor to them so that they can give impactful LORs.
We guide the students to prepare for taking the tests through the following activities
  1. Advising the students on the tests to take and their scheduling
  2. Guiding students in applying for the standardized tests
  3. Sharing sample papers/ mock test links wherever available
  4. Tracking dates for the admit card release/entrance exams and keeping registered students informed of the same over e-mails.
Note: This does not include coaching and practice of mock tests

Attending interviews for college admission is a novel experience for the students – one that needs preparation. We guide a student’s preparation for the interview by:
  1. Providing information on the universities/colleges and the courses where personal interviews are part of the admission process.
  2. Share details on the type of topics from which the interview questions are asked.
  3. Coaching and practice for the interviews through mocks based on past interview patterns.

The cost of attendance of the course plays a vital role in taking a decision for accepting an admission offer from a university by a student. There are high chances of students not going for higher education due to financial issues. Therefore, the right guidance and expert advice helps in clearing doubts to a great extent. Through information on scholarships and financial assistance offered by the universities themselves and some charitable bodies, endowments, banks and other providers of educational financing, our counsellors quickly solve the problems of the students.

Once the student has got the admission and the finances to attend college, the final frontier he/she must cross is getting the visa. Owing to the ongoing political changes and disruptions in world order at large, many countries change their visa processes regularly. Our counselling team understands the framework of the visa process and shares the same with the student for smooth implementation of the steps involved. It might be pertinent to note that most universities provide visa guidance to the selected candidates..
